This is a series of artwork in East meets West style. One of the styles is the Bijinga, which are pictures of beautiful women in Japanese art, especially in woodblock printing of the ukiyo-e genre, which predates photography and is a genre of woodblock prints and paintings that was produced in Japan from the 17th century to the 19th century. Another style used is the Op art, a style which was popular among western countries in the 20th century, which uses repetition of simple forms and colors to create vibrating effects, moiré patterns, foreground-background confusion, an exaggerated sense of depth, and other visual effects. The east meets west style and combination of classic and modern has developed a sense of humour.

So for whatever reason streetlights have been out in a portion of the neighborhood today. Walking down my street in somewhat darkness it made me wonder if this is what it was like when the house which I currently occupy was built during the Civil War era. Then when I turned the corner there was light and I saw this scene. I love how the snow flickers in the light. Less than two days ago we had a mini but substantial lake effect snow storm. This morning when I rode to work it was spring-like and raining. Now it's freezing and snowing again, albeit lightly. I wonder what season it will be tomorrow?
